Switch Your Faith On

Hi my friends,
It feels like it's been ages since I last wrote...
Well, lately:
I visited a woman named Sharon who knows a family I know back in Utah. She doesn't live in our area, but we got permission to go on splits with the sisters that cover her area! She made delicious gourmet style sandwiches and we chatted about her life... She'd visited Utah briefly before to see our family friends. That was a good segue into talking about God! ;) She is a beautiful woman. We gave her a Book of Mormon. She doesn't know what she believes at the moment, she is still developing her faith. But we shared Alma 32 with her and she seemed to really take it in. It was a great visit.
We've done heaps of tracting and given a few Books of Mormon. No one seems to want us to return, but I pray one day they will see their dusty Book of Mormon on their bookshelf, and wonder what it's all about. I know if they read that book, they won't see things the same anymore.
We followed up on a Less Active/ Part Member family up in the hills. There are some really great people in this world, and they are some of them. They are a young, cute family who actually really love Jesus Christ. I could see it and I could feel it. They just have a few doubts and concerns which really hold them back. I was reminded of one of my favorite quotes in Preach My Gospel by Ezra Taft Benson:
“… All objections, whether they be on abortion, plural marriage, seventh-day worship, etc., basically hinge on whether Joseph Smith and his successors were and are prophets of God receiving divine revelation. …
“… The only problem the objector has to resolve for himself is whether the Book of Mormon is true. For if the Book of Mormon is true, then Jesus is the Christ, Joseph Smith was his prophet, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true, and it is being led today by a prophet receiving revelation.
“Our main task is to declare the gospel and do it effectively. We are not obligated to answer every objection. Every man eventually is backed up to the wall of faith, and there he must make his stand” (A Witness and a Warning, 4–5).
Sister Johnson has been saying goodbye to all of our friends here we've made in Bellevue. They're all going to miss her. But I'm going to miss her the most. I never knew a cute little Malaysian would change my life...

I hit my 17 months today. We celebrated with Baskin Robins. The weather has been perfect lately. Sunny and 25 (75F). I'm gonna shake Elder Renlund's hand on Saturday. I'm grateful to be a missionary.

Much Love,
Sister Beardall

She calls me Cammy (after my stuffed Camel on my bed that my mom sent on 'Hump Day')
