Push the Rock

This week was a good one. We are slowly but surely finding and teaching. It's a new challenge being doubled in and opening a new area.
The STL's came over one morning for studies and then we went out finding. As we were walking she told me a story that relates to us as missionaries.

It went something like this:
"There once was a farmer (maybe it was a king...don't remember) who had a lot of land. He wanted to clear and prepare it to grow some crops, but there was a massive and I mean MASSIVE boulder sitting right in the middle of his field. (I'm telling the story now so I can exaggerate.) The farmer asked his son if he would push the rock. He came back later in the day, and saw that his son was sitting down on the ground next to the rock, frustrated. The father asked, "Son? What are you doing?" The son replied, "I give up! This rock won't move!" The father responded, "Son, I didn't ask you to move the rock. I simply asked you to push the rock."

Sometimes in life we are asked to do things and we get discouraged and give up because we don't get the results we desire. But Heavenly Father simply asks us to just 'push the rock'. So I will.

-We had a Hangi at our Ward Mission Leader's house. It's a islander thing. They cook the food underground! So yum.
-We are teaching a less active woman atm, she is addicted to those colouring pages, you know... they're supposedly good therapy?  She's coloured 673 so far.
-We were tracting one day and we came across a young mom who is a Seventh Day Adventist. SHE HAD A BOOK OF MORMON! She had some elders over in the past when she was living in Broome. But she's firm in her beliefs. Her sons are so cute. They showed us their leaf, shell, feather, car, etc. collections. We told them that we have some coins from our countries that we will bring by to add to their collection! Great excuse to come back, aye?? ;)
-We also found a man named Manuel from Spain. He lives here with his wife and mother in law. They are all from Spain. We have been teaching him a bit. He is crackup. An awkward moment happened when he came out and looked at me a said, "Are you wearing perfume?" and he smelled my neck! Bahhhh!! totes awks. That must be some good perfume if it lasts 12 hours!! I put it on at 7 in the morning! He likes watching movies so we gave him the Restoration movie and we will watch it with them next time. I pray the spirit will touch their hearts.
-Sister Johnson and I gave talks in sacrament meeting on Sunday. My topic was 'Teaching and Learning by the Spirit'. I remember being a little kid and wondering how people gave talks without reading it. Well the only talks I've been asked to give had to be 5 minutes so I had to simply speak from my heart. I love the truths of the gospel.

Well, that's all folks. See you next time. Choose the right. Pray every day. Eat your veggies, and follow the spirit.

Love you!
