Getting Hit With Pots And Stuff

Hello!
I feel like I was just here emailing all of you. Here I am again!
I'm totally not jealous you are all enjoying the sunshine over on that side of the world. Keep enjoying it!

Well I have a cool experience to share if you want to read about it:
On Friday, we looked at our phone and saw that we missed a call from our District Leader and his companion, Elder Jensen and Elder Chase. We called them back and they told us that they had a referral for us! Her name is Roji, she is from Iran, her husband passed away 6 years ago. She believes in God.
Sister Sinaga and I were like, "Cool! Thanks we'll call her!"
On Saturday we brought a member with us to our visit, Sister Baatjes from South Africa. Roji is so cool! She is a middle aged woman. She opened the door and let us right in! She was so grateful to see us! It was almost overwhelming! Haha!
She told us that on Friday morning, she was praying to God that he would show her a sign, show her something that would help her in her life. She was walking her dog and he went over and was getting all dirty in some mud. Roji walked over to get him out and she saw these two boys ride by on their bikes. She yelled out to them and they came over. She told them that she has been feeling really lonely lately and she wants to find good people to talk to and rely on. She felt like God told her to talk to those two boys.
I feel like He did too.

We had a really interesting conversation. Both Sister Baatjes and Roji have had very similar experiences and it was amazing to see and feel that God is so involved in each one of our lives. Roji didn't used to believe in God, but after her husband died, she had a Christian friend that told her to write a letter to God and tell Him anything she wanted to tell Him. Roji thought her friend was crazy and she didn't want to do it. Her friend kept encouraging her to do it and she eventually did. Her experience after she did that changed her life, and she now knows that God is real.
Roji is now coming to church and we are so excited to teach her about what we believe! She wants to know how she can be with her family forever.

I had another cool experience that evening. We were teaching a lesson in the kitchen to Tanisha and Tahlia and Shanika etc. (a recent convert family) and Tahlia had a big heavy cooking pot in her hand. Who knows why? I got up and was walking to get my scriptures and all of a sudden I get banged in the side of the head with the pot!! My life flashed before my eyes. I thought I was going to die of brain damage or something.
You know when you get hit in the nose with a basketball and it hurts so bad your eyes just water and water? It's not like you are sobbing uncontrollably but like, you're crying? My eyes would not stop watering. Okay, okay I was crying. But not the uncontrollable sobs! Tahlia felt so bad! She ran and got some frozen corn in the freezer and quickly put it to my head! It was very exciting. I can honestly tell you I did not see that one coming.

I'm grateful for these experiences I have had on my mission that I never expected that I would have; meeting Roji, getting smacked with a pot. It keeps life interesting and I'm really grateful for that. ;)

I have to tell you, there is nothing like the feeling you get when you tell someone that God is their Heavenly Father, that He knows their name, He knows their thoughts, He knows what they need, and He loves them. I have had many experiences this week to deeply explain this to people and to show them that by sincere prayer - meaning a real, open, heartfelt conversation with God - they will feel His love and they will know that He is there. The spirit hits me even stronger than Tahlia could ever hit me with one of her pots. And thankfully, that feeling is a really good feeling.
I know He knows me. I know He has many more experiences in store for me that will allow me to change, to learn something, to grow, and most importantly to feel His love.

My weirdo companion who eats whole fish! Ew.
Roji has this picture in her home. She loved it because it looks like God is coming through the trees. Little does she know that is The Sacred Grove...

Doesn't that guy in the bottom right corner look like Si from Duck Dynasty????!!?!
