Sister Parsons left this world (Australia) and entered Heaven (Utah) on Thursday. She will be deeply missed. I MISS UTAH!!! Ya'll don't know what you have.
My
new companion is the one and only.....SISTER SINAGA!!! She was in my
district when I first came to Australia! I have stayed in the same
district my whole mission, but now she is back in High Wycombe and we
are now companions! I LOVE Sister Sinaga. She is SO crackup and so
dedicated to serving the Lord and doing work. She is from Indonesia and
she loves Chili. And she loves taking pictures of me when I'm not
looking. And of herself on my camera. I love her.
Having
Sister Sinaga back in High Wycombe has helped me see that people's
hearts are softening. We keep getting out of lessons and she says, "What
the heck?!" (in her indonesian accent) When she says that, I know we
just experienced a miracle! Hahahaha!
We are
teaching golden investigators and some of the people who didn't let them
in in the past, we now see regularly! What the heck?
We had a lesson with our investigator named Yuli on Saturday.
She is from Indonesia and is Muslim and they imagine God as just a
spirit. Not a person. He's not a "he". He's an it. God. A thing. Not a
person. Something that is everywhere but nowhere.... Our lesson was filled with
the spirit. Scriptures kept coming to our mind that we shared with her
to answer her questions. She kept having "Ah ha" moments. Everything
started making sense. We invited her "just for this lesson" to picture
God as a person. A man. Someone who loves her so much and is standing
there listening to her. We invited her to pray with us and she said, "No
no you. You do it. It's your turn." We didn't let down. 3 times we
invited her. I had the idea to share a scripture in 2 Nephi 32:8-9 and
after we read that she said, "Okay. I will pray." We closed our eyes and
folded our arms. And she prayed.
It was the
most amazing experience. Her prayer was so simple. So sincere. She ended
her prayer and she was crying. She said, "Why am I crying?? Am I
crazy?" Haha! We told her she was feeling the Holy Ghost. She was
feeling God's love.
She said, "I feel so happy. I feel so much...relief!" #liquidheart #whattheheck
We
also had a great lesson with Gemma. She's basically Mormon already. At
the end of our lesson, she asked US if we wanted to pray? Who even does
that?? Gemma.
I'd be okay if I stayed in High Wycombe my whole mission. I love these people. There is so much work to do, and I want to do it.
A
few weeks ago, my sister sent me something that said, "Babe, you got
this." I testify that this is true. For me, and for all of you! You got
this! Whatever you are going through, you can do it! Maybe sometimes you
feel you can't do it. But God can do anything. So get on His side and
through His power and His Spirit and His commandments and His strength,
you can do it. You got this.
Something Sister Sinaga says to me all the time is, "It's not hard. It's just us. Just do it."
It's just us.
Just do it.
Love you.
