It's not about you. It's for those who are blessed by what you do.
This
week was....interesting. Life is always interesting when you are
working with people, isn't it? It also included me stabbing myself with
a knife and threats to be arrested! So lets just say things can only
get better!!
We are determined to work hard. I read a scripture about Aaron who worked with diligence daily. (Alma 21:23) The hearts of the people began to change. I know if I work with diligence daily, the hearts of the people in this area will begin to change too.

We held a chapel tour this on Sunday which was really successful! I love seeing people interested in learning. It's exciting!!
Today
we will be having a cottage evening with our investigators at our ward
mission leader's home! That should be good as well!
I
love serving with Sister Parsons. She is a good, hardworking
missionary. Even though we speak a different language, we still get
along great! The other day she was telling me her brother had to drink
shark cartilage to help the cartilage in his knee, and I thought she
said shock cotledge and I had no idea what she was talking about!!
Or
she says "lour" instead of "law". And "pour" instead of "paw". I'm
constantly saying, "What?" or "Sorry?" or "Just say it one more time."
Hahaha! It's lots of fun.
We taught a lady from
Thailand this week. She related a story about a father who was a the
table one morning, eating breakfast with his son. His son accidentally
knocked over the father's orange juice and it went all over his nice
work shirt. The father angrily stood up yelled at his son and stormed
around trying to find a new shirt. He was going to be late and had his
wife drop him off. Because he was rushing around, he forgot some
important documents he needed that morning for his meeting. His wife had
to hurry home and drop them back to her husband. His wife had a bonus
from being a top employee at her job, and on this day, she was late to
her job and lost the bonus. Meanwhile, the son couldn't focus at school
and didn't perform well at his football tryouts after school, and he
didn't make the team.
All of this happened because of the
reaction to the spilt orange juice that morning. If the father had kept
calm, simply cleaned up the orange juice, changed his shirt and told his
son to have a good day at school, everything would have had a better
outcome.
It is so important to have peace inside of us. Our
attitude and our actions strongly affect those around us. We can be
peacemakers, positive, helpful, and happy, and those around us will be
too.
Read your Book of Mormon and say your
personal prayers to Heavenly Father. I'm serious. Don't just look over
that sentence and not do it. If you haven't done it in a few days, do it
today. If you haven't done it since last year, do it today. If you just
did it yesterday, do it again today. If you have never read the
scriptures or prayed to God in your life.....do it. Today.
