MIRACLES:
Remember
the lady I talked about that showed up at church, with pink hair,
Yvette?? Well guess what.....she has accepted the invitation to be
baptized on Feb. 13th!!!!!!
We
also invited the Seymour family to be baptized and they said they would
pray about it as a family and let us know! (I'm feeling it's a yes...!)
FOUR
people/families came to church this week!!! Usually it's ZERO. So four
is saying something! Investigators and less active families and
individuals. Man. I could not stop smiling. It did call for a lot of
people who needed attention, that's for sure! Haha! We were going
crazy.
We have a new investigator!! Her name
is Jen. She just got back from Utah for a month visiting a friend
(members) who used to live in Australia. She showed us all her Utah pics
with the beautiful snow and everything and I got a bit homesick tbh.
She said she was depressed that she wasn't in Utah right now. Haha! It
was so funny! She LOVES Utah! She went to the MoTab concert, temple
square, her friend sang in church and she played the piano for her, went
caroling with the YW...everything. At the end of our visit, she
basically asked US if we could teach her. She wants to learn more about
our church. She's basically already LDS. Sent from Heaven. (Sister Grace
and Sister Weist found her a the library one day before her trip and
she needed help printing a flight ticket something. Sister Grace saw she
was going to SLC and told Jen Sis. Wiest was from there! They got
talking and the rest is history.)
Funny Story:
There was a house with a sign that said "Natural Honey! Free Samples" so
naturally we decided to go "get some free honey", really seeing it as
an opportunity to meet and talk to some new people. We rang the bell,
they came out and gave us some samples. Right away they said, "Ohh.
You're Mormons." After tasting the honey, we put the sticks with all the
others, in the cup to throw away. There were ants all over them. They
invited us in and long long story short they were Jehovah's Witnesses
and we got stuck in their trap - just like the ants in the honey.
Hahahaha! Good one. Good one.
Can someone help
Sister Wiest and I with our tracting. It. Is. So. Awkward. Like you can
feel the awkwardness in the air when we try to talk to people. Man. But
we keep trying. Haha!
I just have to say that I
LOVE studying in the morning! I am learning so much, and it's only
because I'm giving Heavenly Father the opportunity to teach me. Never in
my life will I have an easier schedule: set time to exercise, an hour
to study, etc. before the day even begins. This week I found myself
reading Ether 12. Ho.Ly. Cow. That is SUCH a good chapter!! Please read
it!!!! Right now!! Everyone go dust off your Book of Mormon and read
Ether 12. BY FAITH we can do anything. And we don't have to do it on our
own either. We do it with the help of Jesus Christ.
So I'm writing today, on Thursday
because we went to the temple today for our P-day. It is a miracle that
we even got there. So I'm a new driver and the first go around we were
trying to make it to the 9:30
session. We were going to drive to the Belmont Forum and catch buses to
the temple. We were running a bit late, like 4 minutes, and I totally
missed 2 exits and we ended up back at our house. Total waste of K's
(kilometers. we only have so many...) I was so mad. They are also
redoing the roads so my GPS isn't the same as the roads and it takes me
weird places...
Anyway, we decided to go for the 11:30
session instead. We got to the Belmont Forum the 2nd go around but when
we caught the bus we didn't know where we were to get off! We ended up
getting off and getting lost. We decided to call a member (someone with a
smartphone) to give us directions. She turned us back around and told
us we were almost there. So we walked and walked and walked and turned
on this street. As we rounded the corner, we instantly saw the Angel
Moroni!! It was GLORIOUS! We screamed with happiness and relief and joy
and everything else and ran down the hill to the temple!!! We barely
made it to our 11:30 session and only by the goodness of Heavenly Father. I love Him.
I
thought about how GOOD it was to see the temple and how Sister Wiest
and I literally REJOICED. I imagine that is how it will be when I get to
Heaven and finally enter into Heavenly Father's rest. I WILL get there.
I will do everything I can to get there, and I will rejoice.
