Hello everybody,
It's been a great week. We've done lots of finding by tracting (knocking doors). On Saturday, we chose a great street to tract. Everyone was so funny....
We knocked on one door and the man answered it, looked at us, and as we tried to get a conversation going with him, he slowly, very very slowly closed the door. I kept trying to ask a question, but it was so awkward b/c he was shutting the door so I couldn't get the question out. We were laughing so hard!
We met a really old lady and she actually let us inside to watch the Restoration movie with her. All throughout the movie, she kept saying, "I've seen these types of movies all the time." "I've seen this many times already." "I've already seen this." Bahaha. Outwardly nothing fazed her, but I hope that when she saw the First Vision that she felt the spirit. I know I did.
We also met a Jehovah's witness lady who was super nice, but was just about to get her skirt on to go to church. She seemed to sympathize with us... which was nice. ;)
Then fasting on Sunday brought a miracle: Church had just ended and we planned to tract around the area. As the members were leaving the parking lot, they would roll down their windows and offer us a ride, but we told them we were tracting! They offered their encouragement, "Oh, bless you." and "Good on ya! Remember, your husband's gonna be super attractive!" Haha.
Anyway, towards the end of the street we knocked on a door and a nice man in his mid forties answered. He came out on the porch and Sister Johnson and I got to know him a bit. He has an 8 year old son with amputated legs and that experience brought this man, Emmett closer to God. He knew He had helped his family. Long story short he eventually accepted the Book of Mormon, said he would consider baptism, as he's never been baptized before, and we set up a return appt. to meet with him and his wife and son! #FillTheFont #LightTheWorld #ShareGoodness
Transfer News: We're staying in Bellevue for another transfer!! I hope we stay until Feb, when Sister Johnson leaves.
A member shared this poem with us this last week and it really inspired me:
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

The opposite of grow is shrink. D&C 19:18 The Savior wished that He "might not drink the bitter cup and shrink..."
We are on this earth to GROW! Not shrink. Do His will and you will grow. Psalms 40:8 "I delight to do thy will. O my God: yea thy law is within my heart."
Be true and faithful in your head and in your heart. It is easier to walk with the Lodr that it is to labor against Him. Don't just look like a disciple of Christ. BE a disciple of Christ.
I LOVE YOU ALL!! Have a FANTASTIC week!
Love,
Sister Beardall
