We Can Do HOT Things

It's been pretty good weather lately, but on Saturday we had a hot one! I felt like my brain had melted. And really it wasn't even that hot... the car said 33 C. It's been 38 before last summer!! I don't know how I did it.

Anyway, we've been dropping a few investigators but finding more! It's key to be escalator missionaries instead of elevator missionaries. We found a family tracting the other day. They could be Mormon. They have a 4 year old daughter with cute blonde curly hair, a 3 year old son and a tiny 5 week old baby. The wife told us her husband probably wishes they would go to church... BINGO! I hope they will have the faith to experiment and as God if what we will teach them is true. I hope also, that we will be in tune with the Spirit to know what to say. They are the cutest family.

We also met a young lady who's dog just died the day before and she was so sad. She started to cry. She didn't want to talk at the moment, but she said we could come back. We told her that God is her Heavenly Father and she is His daughter. He knows her and loves her. We told her that we believe that everything that God has created will one day be restored. She had stopped crying by the time we left.

We had Zone Conference! MY FAVORITE!!
-At the end of our mission vision that we recite it says, "I will be faithful to him to the end of my mortal days." Sister Fife emphasized something at Zone Conference. She hopes that we say, "I will be faithful to Him, today."
-Stop asking and start thanking.
-Win the daily squirmishes and the big things will take care of themselves.
-Who is the captain of your ship? Who is the captain of your life?
-Read Alma 29:4-5 - You and I will get what we want. What do you want?
-Mortality is the last lap of the marathon! Don't get distracted by the man in the stands selling hot dogs and Gatorade!! In this race, you leave everything out on the track.
-"Votes don't change the gender of a cat." -Pres. Fife's comparison of the Roman empire/ Constantine, who voted on the true nature of God to please the people.
-2 questions to ask God in prayer: "Is there anything I'm doing you want me to stop doing?" and "Is there anything I'm not doing that you want me to start doing?"

Let us all press on.
Love,
Your Sister Beardall
