Oye, I am
learning learning learning here on my mission. The trick is applying
everything I'm learning. Yeah? Is it the same for all of you? Applying
gospel principles and such? Sister Wiest actually gave an amazing talk
in Sacrament Meeting this week on Applying Gospel Principles and I
decided to write a talk on the same thing, just in case they made me
speak too. ;) How do you APPLY what you learn?
There
was an idea in Preach My Gospel for Personal Study to write a letter
and ask people how they have been blessed by living a certain
commandment. So I wanted to ask all of you: How have you been blessed by
obeying the Word of Wisdom and also how have you been blessed by
Eternal Marriage (even if you aren't married, all of us are blessed by
eternal marriage)? Those two things are commandments/ordinances we teach
people about in PMG. I'm excited to hear from you!
I
asked one of our ward missionaries this week to give us advice for life
and his response was, "Learn how to cook." Hahaha! He is this cute
Philippino man and he has a heart of Gold. Love him.
Sister
Weist and I struggle in the cooking department, but we are getting
better! We've made pumpkin pie from scratch two times now! People love
it! Haha! We also made kale chips, which is what my subject was of last
week's email. My mom asked what I meant by putting that as my subject. I
didn't mean anything. Haha! I just really like kale chips. I also
really like pink lady apples...
I'll give you the recipe:
Kale Chips
Fresh Kale bunches
olive oil
salt
Break off pieces of kale about the size of a....I don't know. However big you want, I guess.
Lay them on a pan.
Drizzle oil over and flip each piece to make sure they all have oil on them.
Sprinkle with salt.
Bake in oven at 180 c/ 360 f for 5 minutes, flip, 5 more min. Just make sure they don't burn!
Enjoy your healthy chips!!!!
Update
on Yvette. Without giving to much personal info, she is going through a
lot of changes in her life and often times change causes stress. So to
relieve stress she is turning to her smoking habit. Ahhh! TBH, I'm
worried but I also have lots of faith in her! Let me be the one to tell
you the Atonement is so real. And it can CHANGE people! I have been
changed by the Atonement. Temptations I used to struggle with no longer
tempt me and that has only come through sincere pleading with Heavenly
Father for Him to help me. If I tell her one thing or help her
understand one thing, I want her to understand that no matter how many
times she falls or gives in, she should always get back up and try
again. ALWAYS. I hope she never gives up on herself. Because God will
NEVER give up on her. He wants her to succeed. She will succeed as she
lets Heavenly Father into her life and plead and accept His help.
I love all of you! See you next time.
