There is not a day that goes by that I don't learn something new. I am always learning. The spirit is the master teacher.
Last
week I told you that we set a goal to get 6 new investigators. Guess
how many we got? ......4!!! That is crazy!!! We usually get 0-1. ;) Like
my favorite song says, "There can be miracles, if you believe."
One
investigator came as we were preparing the night before. We were
looking through our Area Book and came across a teaching record for a
woman named Cindy. The address only had the street name, no number. So
we took that as a challenge and ran with it! The next morning we started
at the beginning of the street and went down one side, knocking on all
of the doors looking for "Cindy". Even though we were really looking for
Cindy, we were more than happy to talk to everyone that answered the
door. We realized that is a good idea for future tracting! We knocked on
door after door and when we got to the next one I thought, "Eh, lets
just skip this one." Immediately I felt rebuked. So we went up to the
door and a super kind, woman answered. We started small talk and she
started opening up. She is a brand new mom to a baby boy, just starting
to walk. She has had a hard life. She moved here and things are looking
up, but she said she still feels like something is missing. Bingo. Long
story short tears were shed, the spirit was felt and she is a new
investigator. Satan obviously knew she needed the gospel and gave me the
thought to skip that house. I'm glad we didn't.
We are still #searchingforCindy. ;)
Our bikes were stolen this week.
We
parked them in front of a returning member's home one night. She lives
in a quiet neighborhood and I didn't even think to lock our bikes. 30 minutes later
we come outside and our bikes are gone. I was going to cry. We looked
around and Sis. Snow found our bike locks and my mini bike pump on the
ground. They have these short-cut ally ways here and we went down one
and found both our helmets, kept going and found and Sis. Snow's light
with the batteries on the ground. We reported it to the police and I
should be Twitter famous soon. ;) They said they will post a pic of my
bike. Looking at the positive, at least they didn't beat us up and steal
them, and we will now walk more, which makes it more natural when
stopping to talk to people on the street, and I'm still thinking of some
more... haha.
I have been really thinking of
things I am blessed with and grateful for and it has helped me not be so
angry or sad. I'm grateful for everything God gives me. I am truly
blessed. #payyourtithing
We had Zone Conference and Stake Conference this week, both of which were AMAZING. I love meetings. It's weird.
Something
I've learned is that I'd rather mess up trying to bring people to
Christ, than mess up not trying to. My good friend Winston Churchhill
once said, "Never, never, never give up." ;) The only motivation that
will ALWAYS carry you through is your love of God. I know I'm not
perfect and being a missionary is hard, but it is also so fun and I
love every new day that I am given to fulfill my purpose. I love my
calling. I am happy!
Love,
Sister Beardall
This is how Sister Snow makes her eggs so I gave it a go... not bad. I'm usually weird about gooey eggs, but I am still alive today so we're good.
Sister Wiest is driving!! Watch out every body!! Who knows? She might end back up in Utah...
Reunited with my Sister Grace!
