Temple Week

Hello my family and friends!
Well, the work is working here in Forrestfield. I am excited to say that MARTHA IS ON DATE TO BE BAPTIZED!! Dec. 12th is the date. We are so excited!! Ah man. She is the cutest. And her kids are the cutest. A little bit naughty....but the cutest. Haha! I can't imagine how hard it would be to parent little kids all alone as well as teach them when you aren't educated yourself.
This week we asked her if we could come over and help her clean her house. She said, "No, iss okay. I cahn clean, you see? Mah home is smoll so I cahn do it." (said with an African accent... :))
We came over anyway and to keep it short, we de-cockroached her entire kitchen. Wow, I just got the chills. So many cockroaches. So so many. Hahaha! She opened up a cupboard and took some things out and she all of a sudden slams it shut and starts itching her scalp! hahahaha!! I was laughing so hard! She's like, "I cahn't leeve heaah. I have to moove." Hahaha! It was so gross! She had some spray and I'm surprised I'm alive today after inhaling all that spray! We probably killed 200 of those things. Not kidding.
Sacrifice brings forth the blessings of Heaven...

We had a really good lesson with an investigator, Louise. She is a client of the bishop's wife. It is so nice to have that member support from the get go! We have had lessons and dinner every Monday night with them for a little while now. Louise is from Ireland so that is interesting alone. She is a really sweet lady! This lesson this week went differently from how we planned. I love lessons like that because it means we were listening to our investigator and to the spirit. The Spirit was there and I learned so much in that lesson. I hope they did too. I ended up remembering a scripture I was studying in personal study that morning Ether 12:6 and I was able to share that with her. I testify that personal study is true and good. ;)

The principle was, that to understand and gain a testimony of a principle such as Prayer or the Word of Wisdom, or Tithing, or Love, we need to try it out with faith. We will not see the blessings that come from living a principle unless we LIVE that principle! "Dispute not because ye see not, for ye recieve no witness until after the trial of your faith."

Funny moments: Sister Eagar and I were Role Playing the Plan of Salvation and our fan was the the investigator. It says Moretti on it, so that was his name. At the end, Sister Eagar said, "Moretti, Sister Beardall, Natural Spring, and I know that you can pray and ask God for yourself and He will hear and answer your prayers (or something along those lines...)" I just started busting up laughing. Apparently our Member's name was Natural Spring, the water bottle... ahh, does that even sound funny? Man, you had to be there! Maybe we were just delirious.

We were at a Less Active's home one night (6km bike ride in the bush), and the husband was talking about how people called the gum nuts on the eucalyptus trees "honkie nuts", and I didn't understand what he was saying so he had to say it like 5 times and I was clarifying what he was saying and it was suddenly embarrassing because we were saying it so much and ..... yeah. That's that.

We were role playing teaching prayer and asking an investigator to pray with the other sisters in our district one afternoon. We told her which investigator to be. She actually knew her b/c we split this area with her so she was one of Sister Grace's investigators. During the role play, Sister Grace would make eye contact (being the investigator) and when we asked her to pray, she suggested that her daughter say the prayer and made excusses why someone else should. We didn't give in though and her daughter taught her how to pray.
Fast forward about 2 hours and we are at this investigator's house. We get to the end of the lesson, and we ask the mom to pray, and she LITERALLY did the EXACT thing Sister Grace did!!!!! It was SO FUNNY!!!!! She suggested that her daughter say the prayer because, "you say really great prayers." and she said she didn't know how to do it (even though we pray all the time and we have taught them), so her daughter taught her! It was like de ja vou! So funny. She said a great prayer too!! We love this family and love the progress they are making!

If I could only say one thing today to all of you, it would be that I love you and that I hope you are doing all you can to love others. Love God and Love Others! These are the 2 greatest commandments.

Love,
Sister Beardall

p.s. sorry for writing so late, my pday was today instead of Monday, b/c we went to the temple today! I LOVE THE TEMPLE!! If you can go to the temple, go go go to the temple!! If you can't go to the temple, do everything you can to get yourself there.
