There is so much to say, but I don't want to bore you with a super long letter...the struggle is real...
I
arrived here safe and sound after almost missing my last flight to
Perth from Brisbane! Like we were literally SPRINTING through the
airport! My carry on was too heavy so I had to take some things out like
and they gave me this pink bag that said, "Kiss Breast Cancer Goodbye"
on it. Super awkward to be walking around with that but oh well. They
called Elder Baca (travel leader) and my name on the intercom because
the plane was leaving! We made it though! You should SEE my ankles! I
will send pics. They were HUGE! I thought they were going to explode, my
skin was so tight! Hahaha!

My swollen ankles. #kankles |
One of our flights (the 14 hour one) was kind of luxury. |
I sat by a young
mom and her baby girl on the flight to Perth. For hours I didn't talk to
her, wondering what to say! She sat the baby in the seat in the middle
and I finally asked her how old her baby was and we started talking!
Hallelujah. She doesn't believe in God. I asked her what she believes in
and she said she believes she is just here to be a good person. We
spent the rest of the flight talking and playing with her baby. SO CUTE!
I feel like I'm always baby hungry...I don't know why....Love them. At
the end of our flight we got off the plane and I ran over to her and
gave her a MORMON.ORG card with a note I wrote about families being together forever. I hope she looks into it more!
I
love my mission Pres. Fife and Sister Fife! They are so great. Pres. is
super enthusiastic and Sister Fife is SOO sweet! I love them.
President and Sister Fife! |
Right
as I arrived, Sister Emery (a senior missionary at the office) told me I
had a package! I don't know why I was supprised, (because of course my
mom would do that), but I was!! Thank you so much mom, and family for
that amazing "greenie" package!! It made me so happy, you don't even
know. The only thing is that they call us "Goldens" here. I love it.
President
Fife has the vision that soon, each companionship will be having 20
baptisms each month! That is quite the goal, but let me tell you I am SO
ready to go out and work hard everyday to accomplish that.
The
minute we arrived at the mission home, we got a quick snack then went
contacting with some sister missionaries. Long story short, a sister,
Sister Jardin and I got 9 referrals and 5 return appointments!!! Whaaa?
It was crazy!! I know it won't always be that easy, but man it was fun
to talk to people and sit down and ask them what they believe and tell
them how we can add to their beliefs!
There are
ant hills EVERYWHERE here! Mom, you would love that. The crows sound
like goats/babies when they crow. It's quite frightening! The Australian
salute is just waving your hand around your face like you are swatting a
fly-because that's what we do here. Flies love us. The American salute
is setting the windshield wipers off. They are on the opposite side of
the steering wheel here. Haha! I feel like we are going to die every
second I am in a car, because we are on the wrong side of the road!
My
companion is Sister Eager. She is 33 years old! She is from Chicago and
is super nice. She has been out 14 months. She compliments me all the
time and is such a great trainer. She tells me I am already so natural
at talking to people, and I mean...I would have to agree... Haha! JK I
get afraid talking sometimes, but I do love reaching out and smiling to
everyone! Missionary work is FUN!

I'm on a bike! I haven't crashed yet, but I'll keep you updated. Also, I'm open to name suggestions for the bike. |

I will send pics soon!
I love you all. Thank you for writing me!
Stay close to God and the spirit. They literally can and will guide you, every second of your life.
Love,
Sister Beardall
