An Over-eating Miracle

Hellooo everybooody!
It's been a good week! Sister Johnson got a tooth pulled, we saw some kangaroos in the wild, and we had Zone Conference! Oh, and I also hit my year mark! I can't believe it! It was just barely Christmas!! Time flies when you're having fun.

We found a new investigator on Sunday. A part less active family invited us over to have dinner. They are Samoan, which explains how much food they forced us to eat. How do you say no to 3 scoops of ice cream 1 piece of pineapple pie and a slice of choc. cake when they put it down right in front of you? It doesn't work. They have no sympathy for this white gurl!!

Anyway, later their less active son also walked in the house with his partner and daughter(2 yrs old). They seemed to avoid eye contact with us but as we began to ask questions about themselves they began talking to us, particularly the partner, Lauren. I assumed she wasn't a member so I zoned in on her. She was raised Catholic. Her LA partner (partner meaning they are together but not married) has mentioned a few times about when he was in youth and he still has his BOM near his bed. She received our Book of Mormon gladly and was so engaged with the scripture we discussed with them! It was a miracle!! We didn't even have to find her. She came to us. I'm grateful I had faith over fear. I could tell their family didn't want to talk gospel with them there, but we did anyway. Who knew she would be so open??
I pray that she will begin a journey through the Book of Mormon and come to know and feel that it is true.

Pres. Fife said something in Zone Conference that struck me. He was telling us a story of a major decision he had to make in his business career. The Spirit told him he shouldn't go on a business trip the president of the company invited him to go on. What he said was, "I've had many experiences listening to and following the Spirit, so I knew it was the Spirit."

Heavenly Father can be trusted! All the time! Always! Even when the evidence is to the contrary.

I love you all. Thanks for making the world a better place.
Love,
Sista B

SHE GOT BAPTIZED! That baptism was one of the highlights of my mission. Tears were a flowin'!! She has changed so much. She has her son again. She's a complete miracle.
Belinda and William
Mormon Grandpa - While tracting one day, we came across an older couple. When the man saw us he said, "You can come in if you don't talk religion." That's what they all say, so we gladly came in. ;) They knew we were 'Mormons' and weren't interested. They assume they know all they need to know about the church. They are a nice couple, but closed to anything new. He LOVES to read. Now matter how many times I told him 'history was my worst subject so no I didn't know that historical fact', he kept teaching us more. We wondered if he would enjoy reading the Book of Mormon. He said no. Long story short, as we were leaving, the wife looked at our badges and said, "Latter-day Saint? My grandpop was a Latter-day Saint..."
She showed us his picture. I wonder what his story is.....
Gave us poppys and some other flowers
Dianella Zone
Sister Ahlstrom (Sweden) and Sister Collins (Nevada) - we came out together, it's been a year!
Sister Geson-She gave us peppermint tea and some German cookies. What a sweet lady. She's another one that has had a hard, hard life. She told us stories of when she was in a concentration camp in Germany when she was a little girl. She's also living in a small granny flat after her son took her house from her after she got out of hospital. You wouldn't believe the stories. She is a member of the church as well as her kids, but some have strayed to say the least. She spoke of her mom and her dad. She teared up as she did. She said, "I miss them. I miss them so much." It made me want to cry. I could feel the love. I miss my mom and dad too. ;)
